The project GAP aims to foster the transition towards more sustainable models of tourism by studying good practices, developing trainings, and creating urban games. This 3 years partnership is funded by Erasmus + programme. GAP aims to pursue the following general objectives:
- Fostering innovation and sustainability in tourism
- Fostering participatory tourism and bottom-up promotion of territories
Objectives
- Adapting vocational education and training of tourism professionals to labour market needs
- Contributing to innovation in vocational education and training for tourism professionals
- Increasing tourism professionals’ knowledge in the field of sustainable tourism planning and tourism gamification
- Increasing the ability of tourism professionals of implementing participatory processes in tourism development
- Raising stakeholders’ awareness concerning tourism sustainability
- Increasing coordination and stakeholders’ involvement in tourism planning and development
- Fostering civic engagement, sense of belonging and participation of residents to tourism development
Results
Project result 1 – State of the art (research)
Firstly, the desk research will establish a study on participatory tourism and gamification. During this first phase, the consortium will carry out research aimed at identifying inspiring practices in the field of participatory tourism, gamification, and environmental sustainability,
Project result 2 – Fill the gap
The second phase of the project will consist in developing an online course for stakeholders in the field of participatory tourism, heritage and gamification. This course will aim at enhancing knowledge on the topic and at addressing the need for a more adequate training.
Project result 3 – Participatory labs and creation of an urban game
The third step of this project will be the co-creation of an urban game reflecting the results of the studies and of the trainings. The final result could consist in an app, thanks to the technical support of the partners specialized in development of games and of apps.
